there is no lobby or check in desk, the push key code was sent to us, so we were able to move in and stay. Very comfortable. This is an older place so it has some wear factor but clean and nice. The shower could use some updating but it worked fine. I'd stay here again. Don't expect 5 star resort quality, but it was perfect for my wife and me. The wild fires were going on nearby so the water tanker trucks were going by all the time but it didn't bother us. I think the walls would be pretty thin if you had a noisy neighbor but all was quiet when we were there.

The Sage Rooms are wonderfully located for anyone exploring Oregon's Outback (Highway 31). Duane operates a clean little four-room motel with uncommonly large rooms. It was quiet enough to hear a pin drop overnight and the bed was comfy. It was about two doors from the historic Pioneer Saloon, where we enjoyed lunch, and about 10 miles from the birdwatching at Summer Lake and hiking on Winter Ridge. Great value.

This was our third year we have stayed here for our annual rabbit hunting trip. Large comfortable rooms with spacious bathrooms. I loved that the rooms had the heat on and our rooms were warm when we arrived. The only criticism we have is that the heater in room D needs work on its thermostat and the bathroom fan squeaks horribly. We will see you again next year.

Clean, comfy, low price. You usually get mold and questionable surroundings for this price but instead I found a lovely small town motel with a Wild West style. It was contactless and easy. Great spot if you need to rest on a long drive and excellent for checking out small town life. With only 250 people in town, you’d better check business hours if you need gas or food. Rare to find a gem like this in the middle of nowhere. Even more rare that they allow dogs and don’t charge a nightly fee per dog. Added bonus, ask about soaking at the local hot springs!

Reservation was quick and easy. Sent all the emails to get into the room were able to get into the room smoothly with our dog. We were the only ones there that day rooms were clean only killed a couple spiders, but that anywhere. Air conditioner worked really good. We stayed in the king room with a twin bed very western rustic and the shower Water pressure was so good and hot. I did not want to get out. We will be returning more before winter hits. Walking distance from the rooms to everything. I grew up there during the summers because I would come stay with my grandma!! I love a town you can mention who your aunt is and everyone knew her and would have a story to tell!! Place has not changed much.

Great stop on a long drive. The website pictures are accurate. Rooms are nice, large enough to have your luggage with people and not feel cramped. Our two bed had a microwave, regular sized table, full sized coffee maker with enough coffee, a mini fridge, and a lounge chair. Our friends found this place when their bus broke down and I’m glad we got to come. Plus, there’s a bench outside to enjoy coffee by a little stream in the AM.

A friend and I were in the area to explore the Oregon Dark Sky Sanctuary (google it, it really exists!) and stopped here for one night to do some photography in the Fremont National Forest. We stayed at the Sage and all I can say is "wow." Great room. It's obvious that the owner and cleaning staff take pride in providing a special experience so far off the beaten path. When I make it back this way again (and I will), will be staying at the Sage again. Thanks! (photo taken from the Jones Crossing campsite about 10 miles south of Paisley)
